'Chris Hemsworth' to star in Lethal Weapon reboot by 'Fast and Furious' director

Warner Bros. is reportedly moving forward with a remake of the action classic Lethal Weapon, which, according to The Tracking Board, has Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6) attached to direct, and the studio is rumored to be offering a lead role to Chris Hemsworth.
The latest version of the script is said to be a hybrid of both a reboot and a sequel, following the son of one of the original cops, presumably Mel Gibson's Riggs, who has desires to join the police academy. This would allow for Mel Gibson to have at least a cameo appearance, giving viewers familiarity with the franchise. Mel Gibson has denied any involvement with a reboot in the past, but, as The Tracking Board points out, "It's hard to imagine Lethal Weapon without him or co-star Danny Glover."
It isn't known if Chris Hemsworth plans on accepting this offer from Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver. Would you like to see the Avenger team up with Riggs for a newLethal Weapon? Chime in with your thoughts below.
