Hugh Jackman Hopes to join The Avengers as The Wolverine From Movieweb

With X-Men: Days of Future Past hitting theaters in just four days, Hugh Jackman has been making the press rounds, where he revealed that he would love to see his Wolverine character team up with Marvel Studios' Avengers. Take a look at what the actor had to say during a recent interview with IGN.

"I would love to see him as part of The Avengers. Because there's a great dysfunction among that team, and I think Wolverine would fit right into that. He'd like that."

When Marvel's The Avengers came together on the big screen in 2012, there was plenty of animosity between the characters, which lead to a number of on-screen scuffles between the team members. When asked which Avenger he would most like to fight on screen, Hugh Jackman had this to say.

"There's no doubt he'd get in a fight with Hulk at some point. Those two bad, rage-filled characters are going to square off at some point. It would be quite fun. I don't know how much fun to shoot it would be because I'm sure I'd be on the worst end of it, but hey, he can heal."

Of course, in the Marvel comic books, Wolverine was actually a member of The Avengers at one point, along with Spider-Man, but the prospect of a cinematic crossover would be tricky at best, since 20th Century Fox owns Wolverine and the X-Men, Sony controls Spider-Man and Marvel Studios has The Avengers rights. Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige hinted in November that there may be an Avengers/X-Men/Spider-Man crossover, but if it does happen, it won't be for several years.
