The Simpson-Family Guy cross-over episode nearly here

Fox's Chairman of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly, previewed the hour-long special during the network's annual upfront presentation, showing a clip in which Bart and Stewie skateboard together, and Homer and Peter, perhaps unsurprisingly, get into an all-out brawl. The episode will reportedly also feature Lisa helping Meg find something she's good at, while Marge and Lois will ditch their lives as housewives. Here's hoping for some sort of awkward staredown between Brian and Santa's Little Helper.

While this will be the first official meeting between the Simpsons and Griffins, Family Guy creator and voice actor Seth MacFarlane, previously appeared on an episode of The Simpsons, playing a man who tries to steal Marge away from Homer.
Along with the crossover special, Fox also showed off a new Simpsons app made with FX Networks that will allow fans to stream all 552 episodes of the show on their smartphones or tablets. The new app will be available in August, coinciding with The Simpsons' syndicated debut on FXX, FX's new comedy-centric spin-off network.
The Simpsons famously struck a massive syndication deal with FXX last year, giving the network exclusive airing and streaming rights to the longest-running scripted show in TV history. Called the "biggest off-network deal ever," estimates put the total cost of the deal somewhere in the area of half a billion dollars, based on the $1 million per-episode industry standard for broadcast rights. To celebrate, the network will air all episodes consecutively in a 12-day marathon starting on August 21st and continuing into September 1st.
