The first photos of the cast in costume on set performing action sequences featured Jeremy Renner back as the team’s marksman Clint Barton aka Hawkeye, fighting off imaginary CGI villains, joined by the two new additions to the franchise: Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
The “brother-sister act” appeared briefly during the mid-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and actors Taylor-Johnson and Olsen star together in this week’s Godzilla, though in that movie they barely share any scenes together. In The Avengers 2, they’re inseparable and Whedon has added them to mix up the team dynamic. They’re some of his favorite characters from the comics, and were key members of the Ultimates (the Ultimate Marvel Comics universe version of The Avengers).
